Matt Bye received his official entry to the NCAA National Indoor Meet in Boston on Mar. 8-9.

Matt Bye finished 11th in the heptathlon at the NCAA National Indoor Meet which is four spots up from his finish in the decathlon at last year's national outdoor meet.

Matt Bye claimed the title in the MIAC heptathlon to earn the crown for the Cobbers in three of the past four years and eight times since 1996.

Concordia moved up to sixth place in the final team standings thanks to four fast freshmen and the vaulting ability of senior Sam Haley.

Matt Bye and Cal Wright both posted top marks in the MIAC this season at the Bison Open and led the Cobbers to a fourth-place finish.

For the second straight weekend Concordia had an athlete break a school record as they get geared up for the MIAC Indoor Meet in two weeks.

Freshman Jesse Middendorf won the 600 meters and the winning 4x200-meter relay team had three first-year athleses as the newcomers led the way for Concordia at the Cobber Open.

For the second straight meet in 2019 Concordia was led by a group of first-year track athletes.
